Bread sold at Ohio Walmarts and Krogers recalled over ‘life-threatening’ health risk

Sav McKee

A popular brand of bread is being recalled over a serious, life-threatening health risk.

If you have purchased Hartford Bakery’s “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style ½ Loaf” and have a nut allergy or have anyone in your family with one, beware that there are potential hazelnuts in the loaves that were not declared on the packaging. Multiple complaints have already been made that consumers found nuts in their bread. In fact, visible hazelnuts were discovered in almost 900 loaves of bread.

The recalled “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf” products were distributed in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Arkansas, Missouri, Alabama, and Mississippi retailers, including Kroger and Walmart.
