California-based mochi donut chain opens first Ohio location

The first Ohio Mochi Nut has arrived
The popular mochi donut chain held the grand opening of its first Ohio storefront yesterday. It’s located at 994 W. Fifth Ave. in Grandview.
Franchisees Bora Nam and Ben Park relocated from Boston to Columbus, and aimed to bring more mochi donuts to Central Ohio.

“We were exposed to mochi donuts in Boston during the pandemic. The flavors and the experience were something we had never encountered before,” Park said. “We always had ambitions to start a small business, and we’re really excited to show Mochi Nut to Columbus.”
The concept will offer up to 15 flavors of mochi donut (which are made with rice flour and give the donuts a chewy, pillowy feel), in addition to Korean corn dogs and coffee.
There are currently two other dedicated mochi donuts spots in Columbus, The Mochi Shop and Mochi Ring.
