Canadian build-your-own “burrito bar” chain opens first Columbus location

Jack McLaughlin

A burrito concept from north of the border–not south of it–has officially opened in Columbus.

Barrio Burrito Bar, a Canadian concept with a rapidly-expanding footprint in the United States, held the grand opening of its first Columbus storefront, which is also its first store in the Buckeye State as a whole. It’s located at 3301 Morse Rd.

“The local response has been incredible, and we’re excited to continue growing in the Columbus market,” a Barrio Burrito Bar representative told 614Now.

Similar to other fast-casual concepts like Chipotle and Brassica, Barrio Burrito Bar offers a build-your-own experience, where diners can create customized bowls, burritos, tacos, quesadillas and more. In honor of their grand opening, Barrio will be offering $5.99 burritos today.

The new Columbus storefront is the eighth U.S. location for the rapidly-growing brand, which is based in Canada and has plans to launch nearly a dozen more U.S. locations soon.
