Chain known for creative tacos closes a Columbus location after 3 years of opening

There’s now one less spot for creative tacos like The Hogfather and The Trailer Park.

Torchy’s Tacos, the Austin-based taco chain that opened their first Central Ohio location at 1478 Gemini Pl. in 2022, has officially flamed out of that Polaris location as of yesterday, August 26.

“Closing restaurants is never easy, especially in communities that’ve shown us so much love,” said CEO Paul Macaluso in a statement. “This decision reflects a broader shift in how we grow and where we can make the biggest long-term impact.

There are two others remaining throughout Central Ohio, but Torchy’s also closed a multitude of other locations in other states. You can still grab tacos piled high with meat and toppings at their Dublin-Granville Rd. and Hamilton Quarter locations.
