Check your fridge; thousands of packets of cheese recalled at popular grocery store in Ohio


You may want to check your fridge.
An ALDI cheese brand has recalled 400 cases, and 5,000 packets of Colby Jack cheese.
The recall of the cheese sold at Aldi supermarkets in four states, including Connecticut, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and yes, here in Ohio, has been categorized as “Class II” by the FDA, meaning the recalled product has the potential to cause “temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences” due to a “potential foreign material,” which was identified by the FDA as stainless steel fragments.

The affected product is made by The Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., and named “Happy Farm’s Colby Jack Cheese,” are sold in 12-ounce packages, with a UPC number of 4061463330840, the batch number 8679653, and the item number 170374. The best-by dates of the contaminated cheese is July 13 and July 15, 2025.
Please discard the cheese immediately if you have any packages that match the above information.
