Clintonville pizza shop permanently closes

Jack McLaughlin

The Clintonville location of a popular pizza chain has closed its doors.

A sign posted on the drive-thru window of the Clintonville Sbarro shares that the location has shuttered. The eatery is located at 3645 N. High St. It was one of the brand’s Neighborhood Sbarro locations, a moniker it gives to standalone storefronts, outside of mall food courts.

Sbarro confirmed the closure in a statement provided to 614Now.

“Sbarro has enjoyed serving the community of Clintonville over the past several years and we wish to thank our guests for their business. We have made the decision not to renew our lease at this location and closed our doors at the end of March,” Mario Bojorquez, President of Sbarro North America, said in a statement. “Our restaurants at the Polaris Mall and Easton Town Center, along with our eight Turkey Hill locations, will continue to serve our Original XL NY Pizza throughout central Ohio.”

Originally opened in Brooklyn in 1956, Sbarro relocated its headquarters from New York to Columbus in 2014. The chain currently operates 12 locations in Central Ohio.
