Co-founder of popular local brewery sells stake, becomes CEO of different Columbus brewery

One of the Co-Founders of Parsons North Brewing Co. is headed to North High Brewing.

Nathan Klein, who launched Parsons North alongside head brewer Seth Draeger in 2019, has completed a partial buyout, selling his ownership stake to his fellow co-founder, Draeger. Klein will remain in the Columbus beer scene, however, as he will become the new CEO of North High.

“We started Parsons North six years ago and although I am extremely proud and happy of what we have accomplished in that time, running your own business is emotionally, mentally, and physically draining. To that end, it felt like the right time to bow out of the management of it and explore a new adventure and opportunity,” he told 614Now.

Klein retained some of his shares in the partial buyout, but has stepped down from his managerial duties at Parsons North. Draeger will become the majority shareholder and the sole manager of the brewery.

“I wanted to make it clear that I have full faith in the company as it continues to grow and succeed,” Klein said of the partial buyout. “There is certainly a bittersweet feeling to leave something you have put so much of yourself into. In a way though I feel like the successes and failures experienced during that time were a steppingstone to something else and I look upon it all fondly with an emphasis on taking those learning opportunities to a new endeavor.”

At North High, Klein plans to “hit the ground running,” and find new ways to continue the brewery’s growth.

“Taking the reins of something created by another person is a challenge that I am excited to tackle,” he said. “”Differences in management style, operations, and identity are part of running a company. I look forward to seeing what those are, incorporating them into my own style, and generally using a new perspective to grow and expand not only the company, but my abilities as well.
