Columbus-based pizza company eyeing more than 100 new locations


Turns out, everyone loves Columbus-style pizza.
According to a press release, Donatos Pizza, which started right here in Columbus, is expanding their franchise to the Texas market, eyeing between 40 and 50 locations throughout Houston and its surrounding area. This is just the first wave of their wider expansion strategy.

Eventually, the pizza chain expects to add more than 100 more restaurants to its Texas map. The company stated their strategy is to become “a major contender in Texas’ pizza industry.”
Donatos operates 460 locations in 29 states. It opened in Columbus in 1963, gaining its popularity for their non-greasy, thin crust specialities, with toppings piled edge-to-edge, and sliced into squares for easy sharing.
