Columbus-born cookie company pairs with Frank’s Red Hot to create new hot sauce-inspired flavor

The era of taking savory-sweet combinations to the extreme has arrived, and we’re not mad about it.
Last week, Columbus-founded cookie company Cheryl’s teamed up with Frank’s Red Hot to create a hot—literally—new option.
There isn’t much info available on how the cookies—which take on intense red and orange hues— actually taste, but like many options from Cheryl’s, they’re buttercream frosted.

You can see numerous purchase options, including a Valentine’s Day arrangement alongside frosted flower-shaped cookies, here.
It’s unclear how long the cookies will be offered.
Cheryl’s new creation is just the latest iteration in what appears to be a bonafide food trend: savory and sweet flavor combinations that are purposefully over the top. Last year, Cheryl’s created a pickle flavor, and ice cream brands like Jeni’s (Everything Bagel Ice Cream) and Grater’s (Skyline Chili Spice flavor) are in on the action as well.
You can watch 614Now editors Jack and Sav try the new Skyline-inspired flavor below.
