A Food Network star was rushed to the hospital for an emergency surgery after an on-set accident.

Guy Fieri told Fox News Digital that while filming an episode of Flavortown Food Fight, he slipped down a set of steps, and while one foot went forward, the other got caught on the threshold, resulting in Fieri tearing his quad muscle completely in half.

The Columbus-born chef and TV personality was rushed to the hospital, and according to him, this doctor said he hadn’t seen a comparable injury that bad throughout his 20 years on the job. He was ushered straight into surgery.

125 people were on set for the show during the accident.

As of now, Fieri cannot walk for weeks, and he is using crutches and a wheelchair to help with his mobility. They’re still able to film some of the show, but he will soon receive a cast and undergo rehabilitation.

He told Fox News Digital that his children are stepping in to help cook a Thanksgiving meal this year.
