Columbus cookie shop ranked 2nd best in the country after national vote

While some in New York or Los Angeles might scoff at the idea of a Columbus-baked cookie shop being named the nation’s 2nd best, anyone who’s actually tried one of their massive, served-warmed cookies likely doesn’t have a doubt in their mind.

Yesterday, Lion Cub’s Cookies was tapped as the runner-up for the Best Cookie Shop category in the annual USA Today 10Best Readers Choice Awards. The Columbus spot competed with 20 other semi-finalists from across the country, with USA Today reader votes determining the winner.

Lion Cub’s finished behind just Grandma’s Cookies from St. Charles, Missouri, which was named the nation’s best cookie shop for the second straight year.

Earlier this month, the popular Columbus cookie shop, which features (constantly rotating) flavors like Cosmic Iced Cookie, Frosted Animal Cracker and Puppy Chow, made headlines earlier this month for temporarily “closing” its original brick and mortar storefront and opening in the Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber retirement home for one day only, as a way to spread connection prior to Loneliness Awareness Week.
