Columbus’ first indoor & outdoor ‘people park & dog bar’ opening this fall

Whether we want to admit it or not, soon, it will be freezing cold outside, and with winter approaching, this usually means both our social lives and our dogs’ social lives will probably be minuscule.

But it doesn’t have to be this year.

The Wag, Columbus’ first “people park & dog bar,” is opening on November 15. This one-of-a-kind destination offers a place for dog people, and of course their dogs, to frolic about in a shared space. The 10,000 square feet space boasts an indoor dog park, as well as an entire acre of outdoor space for dogs and humans alike, too.

Half the space prioritizes humans—a three-sided bar, lots of seating, Wi-Fi in case you want to get some work done, big screen TVs, and even snacks made by local partners. The bar features a nano brewery, with craft beers on tap, pre-batched craft cocktails, nitro cold brew, and a rotating selection of canned beer, plus mocktails and other N/A options.

The other half is all for your furry friends—an indoor play space, a huge outdoor park with turf, safe, supervised off-leash zones, and even a pet shop and grooming salon, and even a “pawty” space that’s rentable for a private celebration.

It’s a space where dogs can be dogs, and humans can be humans. Most importantly, safety is at the heart of The Wag, and the staff will pay utmost attention to ensure dogs are able to play and relax safely.

The Wag is a members-only facility for the off-leash areas, with memberships ranging from $55-$75 a month, and a day pass for $15. New dogs wear Wag-issued ID collars for their first three days to let other members know and staff know they might need extra support as they settle in.

The grand opening will be held from 5:00-10:00 PM on November 15, located at their facility at 1330 Norton Ave. After that, regular hours will be Monday-Friday, 11AM-10PM, Saturday, 9AM-10PM, and Sunday, 9AM-8PM.

“Opening The Wag in 2025 is the culmination of years of dedication, trials, and triumphs; a true labor of love that reflects the heart, care, and community the space is built to celebrate,” said Casie Goldstein, founder of The Wag.
