What began as an argument over line-cutting at a local pizza shop ended as a crime scene.

Last year, 33-year-old Willie Stephens shot three people in line at Del Baggio Pizzeria, located in Italian Village. According to court records, the victims cut Stephens in line at the pizza shop, which started a dispute.

Police were called to the scene on September 27, 2024 around 3 a.m., where they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds in their back, and a third victim checked themselves into a hospital, suffering from a torso gunshot wound. Video surveillance identified Stephens.

Stephens pleaded guilty to three counts of felonious assault, according to court documents. A Franklin County Court of Common Pleas judge sentenced him to up to 10 and a half years in prison. Stephens has two other ongoing cases: one for felonious assault, also in 2024, and another for burglary in 2023.
