Columbus pizzeria named top spot in the Midwest; 15th best in the world at international pizza competition

A New Albany-based pizza concept was named the best in the Midwest, and one of the best in the world, at an international event recently.
Brenz Pizza won Best Pizza in the Midwest region of the Las Vegas International Pizza Expo, and 15th overall at the Expo.
Billed as the “industry’s biggest event,” the Las Vegas International Pizza Expo fields pizzerias from around the world.

“At the end of the day, it’s really a testament to our entire company. Over the years, we’ve put a lot of time, effort and energy into our Heartland style crust, and strive to be the best,” said Brenz co-owner Kyle Rosch. “Leaving Vegas as number one in the Midwest to go along with our six North America Pizza & Ice Cream Show wins and the winning of the slice of Columbus in Westerville last year, showcases that work, and we are excited to serve this standard of pizza every day.”
While it doesn’t serve true Columbus-style pies, Brenz draws inspiration from Ohio, New York and Connecticut to create their pizza, which is made using their signature, in-house dough. The pizzeria operates locations in Clintonville, Dublin, Fifth by Northwest and New Albany, in addition to storefronts North Carolina and Tennessee.
