Columbus restaurant named one of the country’s ’most romantic hidden gems’

As Valentine’s Day approaches, the question of where to go for dinner is constantly on our minds. Lucky for you, one Columbus eatery was recently tapped as one of the nation’s best romantic “hidden gems.”
For Valentine’s Day 2025, the Sacramento-based Zinfandel Grille surveyed thousands of diners to compile a list of the country’s “most romantic hidden restaurant,” one Central Ohio spot made the cut.
The Refectory, which is located at 1092 Bethel Rd., took the 39th spot. 100 total restaurants were listed.

Here’s what Zinfandel Grille said about the restaurant:
“Columbus’ The Refectory is a gastronomic sanctuary blending French culinary traditions with modern American cuisine. Softly lit dining rooms adorned with fine art and an exceptional wine cellar create an elegant backdrop for sophisticated dining. The restaurant seamlessly marries contemporary flavors with classic techniques.”
The only other Ohio eatery make the list was Thyme2 Medina, which claimed the 68th spot.
