Columbus restaurant veterans launching hip new sandwich spot

A handful of Central Ohio culinary pros are banding together to launch a hip new eatery.

The sandwich shop Klankey’s opened this year through a variety of pop-ups—most recently at Jennings Java—although the concept is eyeing permanent locations in the near future.

The eatery is a collaboration between a number of Columbus restaurant veterans whose names you may already know, including Josh and Kyle Gandee, Jack Dale Bennett Jr., Chris Manis and Nelson McCreary.

Klankey’s menu is highlighted by the Hot Osborne, a roast beef sandwich with cheese, Black Cap Hot Sauce pepper spread and toasted bread. It also offers potato chips with the eatery’s Niece & Nephew Sauce for dipping, which is described by Klankey’s as “burger sauce if it had good manners.”

Follow Klankey’s Instagram account to learn when and where its next pop-up will take place.
