Community coffee spot opening in historic former motorcycle garage

Turn those frowns upside down. Or maybe not? Because at Obetz’s newest coffee shop, being grumpy is encouraged. Grumpy’s Coffee Garage is coming soon to the southeast side of Central Ohio. The community’s newest cafe is taking over a historic motorcycle garage – with a charming logo to boot.

Located at 5210 Groveport Rd, Grumpy’s is set to open late fall of this year, according to the City of Obetz and the shop’s Instagram @grumpyscoffeegarage. The City of Obetz shared:

“The location may be familiar to longtime residents. Once home to Grumpy’s, a custom motorcycle repair shop, the building is being repurposed rather than replaced. Its new life will honor the space’s heritage with an industrial garage aesthetic, while offering the warmth and comfort of a modern neighborhood coffeehouse.”

Grumpy’s has been posting their construction progress on Instagram, highlighting the exciting step-by-step renovations and changes to the space. The “new neighborhood coffee shop” is planning to serve breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, cinnamon rolls, gluten free items, and coffee roasted by Roosevelt Coffee in Columbus.

In a time where everything old is new again, we’re excited to see an industrial space take on a second life with plenty of hot drinks and sweet treats. Besides, it’s okay to be a little grumpy in the morning.
