Company files permit to transform bygone, historic Columbus restaurant

Sav McKee

A historic restaurant may have closed last summer, but something exciting is on its way into that space.

At least, that’s what we’ve been told!

Wally Creek LLC filed permits through the city to renovate Paul’s Fifth Avenue, which first opened in 1966 but closed nearly 60 years later. The company is keeping it on the down low of what this new restaurant will actually be, though. According to the permits, they bought the building, located at 1565 W. 5th Ave., for $800,000.

Representatives from Wally Creek told 614Now that it’s definitely a restaurant, and it will be a very cool concept, but that we’ll have to wait a few months for renderings and an official statement.

Permits show that extensive interior renovation will occur, such as knocking down walls, replacing plumbing and more.

Stay tuned once we find out more information!
