Decades old, family-owned steakhouse abruptly closes a Central Ohio location

“We are deeply grateful for the memories, meals, and moments we’ve shared with you at this location,” said a longtime steakhouse.

The Hickory House’s Gahanna location at 550 Officenter Pl. has permanently and abruptly closed, according to their announcement on their website. The Hickory House, known for two-pound baby back ribs and from-scratch BBQ sauce, has been in business since 1979, staying family owned & operated for the past 46 years. The Gahanna location opened in 2003.

But now for some good news. Their original, 46 year old location out in Reynoldsburg is continuing the legacy and will remain “open, strong, and ready to serve you,” according to their Facebook. “We are separate and independent from the Gahanna location,” their post continues. “While Gahanna is closing its doors, the original Reynoldsburg location is here to stay and is stronger than ever.”
