Downtown coffee shop now serving cocktails & beer, including unique espresso martinis

What initially started as a mobile coffee cart parked in Downtown Columbus, then transformed into a full-blown Downtown coffee shop, and has now turned into a lively cocktail bar, too.

Black Kahawa opened their first brick-and-mortar storefront at 2 E. Broad St., last December, at the site of the former Downtown Columbus Tim Horton’s. Originally, the coffee shop just served specialty roasts and espresso based drinks.

But now, Black Kahawa has acquired a liquor license, and they’ve added a selection of unique cocktails, including a Zanzibar spiced espresso martinis, to their menu. Try the Black Rose espresso martini, with cocoa bitters + topped with cacao powder for every coffee & chocolate lover, plus three other signature espresso ‘tinis. There are five other signature cocktails to choose from that aren’t espresso based, such as the Indian Ocean, infused with tamarind and mango puree, plus six Rhinegeist beers on draft.

Happy Hour is every day from 3-7pm, and normal hours are Tuesday-Wednesday, 6am-8pm. And Thursday through Saturday, 6am-11pm. We’ll see you there!
