4th & State has it all, from fluffy pancakes, to a variety of burgers, and even stuffed crust pizza. The downtown eatery at 152 E State St is open for brunch on the weekends, and is a popular lunch and dinner spot for downtown workers during the week. Oh, and did we mention they’re completely vegan?

The beloved vegan diner has officially been nominated for VegNew’s “Best Vegan Diner in America,” as a part of the publication’s 2025 Restaurant Awards. Over 250 restaurants across the country are in the running for various award categories  – all vegan. The local Columbus spot is up against diners out of Portland, New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles, and more.

The news was posted on 4th & State’s Instagram, @4thandstate, sharing a reel of their seasonally flavored cinnamon pancakes with the caption:

“With pancakes like this…it’s easy to fall in love. I guess that’s one reason why we have been nominated by @vegnews for ‘Best Vegan Diner in America’…another reason might be we have an awesome team that is always working hard to sling the best vegan diner food possible, and a community that is always coming out to support.”

Voting for The 2025 VegNews Restaurant Awards is open via VegNews’ website until November 30th.
