Fast-casual, health-forward chain appears to be taking over recently closed Wendy’s

Many Ohio State students and employees were surprised to find that one of their favorite, fast lunch spots abruptly closed at the end of last semester. But it appears like another one is moving in.
Wendy’s, which opened in 2014 on the first floor of The View on High at 2004 N. High St., appears to be getting replaced by Cafe Zupas, a fast-casual soup, salad, and sandwich chain.
According to permits filed with The City, interior alteration for the new cafe began back in April. It’s not clear when the the new restaurant will open its doors.

Cafe Zupas serves health-forward protein bowls, club sandwiches, house-made soups, and salads, which is much different from a Bacon Cheeseburger and french fries.
Last November, Wendy’s, the Dublin-based chain, announced their plan of closing 140 of their U.S. Restaurants before the end of the year, plus another 100 in May of this year. But with hundreds of Wendy’s closing, 250-300 more are planning to open, according to AP News.
