Fast-causal kebab truck planning first brick and mortar home

A popular Persian food truck is eyeing a permanent home.

Kubido, a food truck that opened in serving kebabs, bowls and wraps has quickly become a campus-area favorite, but it’s hoping to reach an even wider audience soon.

“As an immigrant, food has always been at the center of community and connection for me. Persian cuisine is something I grew up with—family gatherings, street food, and the warmth of cooking over open flames. When I moved to the U.S., I realized how few places offered truly authentic Persian kabobs in a modern, accessible format,” co-founder and CEO Babak Rafian told 614now. “I wanted to share the flavors I grew up with, but in a way that fit the fast-casual style people love: quick, consistent, and customizable.”

According to Rafian, the brand, which specializes in Chelow Kubideh Kabob and Kabob Wraps, is currently planning its first brick and mortar restaurant. While it doesn’t have a location secured yet, the concept is looking for “food halls, food courts and high-traffic areas,” describing a restaurant space as “the natural next step” for the brand.

Ultimately, Rafian also hopes Kubido will “introduce more people to the depth and warmth of Persian Culture.”
