A Columbus craft brewery is tightening its pet policy in the interest of customer and employee safety.

According to a social media statement from owner Keith Jackson, Combustion Brewery & Taproom will no longer allow guests to bring non-service animals to the brewery’s Pickerington taproom, which is located at 80 W. Church St., STE 101.

“As much as we love dogs, the safety of guests, staff, and kids has to come first. After experiencing several safety incidents, including dog bites of staff and children, we’ve made the difficult decision to no longer allow non-service animals on-site @combustionpickerington,” Jackson’s statement reads. “We know how meaningful it is for many of you to bring your dogs here, and this decision was not made lightly. We truly appreciate your understanding as we work to keep Combustion a welcoming and safe place for everyone.”

In October, nearby East Side Brewing Co. banned children from their taproom after 7 p.m., citing incidents of property damage caused by unsupervised kids.
