Kai’s Sugar Shack is back in a temporary home.

The bakery and extreme shake shop was previously located at 3612 Gender Rd in Canal Winchester. While facing financial issues, Kai’s took to the internet to retain its former brick and mortar home, asking the Columbus community for $10,000 in a GoFundMe page to pay off a “rent deficit.”

After reaching the $5,000 mark, but not their $10,000 goal, Kai’s closed in early 2025 while looking for a new location.

They’ve found a new home, but it’s a temporary one. Kai’s will continue to host an ongoing pop-up at Lincoln Cafe, which is located at 740 E Long St, Columbus.

The concept was open at the Cafe from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. during the month of may. It’s unclear what its hours will be during the month of June. Kai’s will remain at Lincoln Cafe until the Long Street spot begins renovations later this year.

Kai’s is actively searching for a new home.
