Former ‘Plas, Z Cucina chef bringing Italian cafe and supper club to Short North

A multifaceted new concept from a Columbus food veteran is coming to the Short North this summer.

According to longtime local chef and restaurateur Jamie George, Rize Parkside Café will likely open this July. The Short North spot, which he describes as “a mix of several concepts” he’s been planning, combing a daytime cafe, supper club and wine tasting spot and even a speciality grocery store.

It’s located at 39 E. Hubbard, STE 603.

“The cafe will be a daytime destination, I hope, with sandwiches such as Italian roast beef and house roasted turkey, egg sandwiches, daily soups and some cool salads. There will be ticketed pop-up,  wine dinners and chefs tasting in the evenings,” said George, who is launching the eatery alongside partner Dan McKay.

Alongside an Italian-focused grocery space with take-home dinners that will offer pickup and local delivery, George will even be teaching a bi-weekly “supper school” at the new restaurant.
