German Village’s first dedicated ramen shop opens
While German Village enjoys a surplus of dining options, a wide variety ramen wasn’t on the menu for the South Columbus neighborhood. Until recently, that is.
German Village’s first dedicated ramen shop, Mizu No Kaori, officially opened its doors over the weekend. It’s located at 495 S. 4th St., which was the former home to the eatery and cocktail spot Bistrolino, which closed for good last August.

The new German restaurant specializes in ramen and tsukemen, a traditional Japanese dish where thick noodles are plated separate from a hot, savory broth that they’re dipped into. The eatery offers a concise menu with several appetizers like Takoyaki (fried balls with octopus and other ingredients) and edamame, in addition to miso, shoyu and vegan ramen.
Mizu No Kaori is open every day from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
