Grandview-area distillery chronicles attempted break-in

Jack McLaughlin

Echo Spirits Distilling was nearly the victim of a break-in over the weekend. Operative word being nearly.

On Friday, the distillery, which is located at 985 W. 6th Ave., shared a photo to their social media pages of the glass in the front door of their Grandview-area bar shattered.

While Echo Spirits will need some work done on their door, the distillery’s post was not one of anger, but of perseverance and gratitude.

“In the last three weeks, my garage has been broken into, someone cut the cover on my bed, and now this. And it has t exactly been a banger of a year for us,” the post reads. “But where I’m ultimately choosing to settle is Grace. As rough of a year as it’s been, I also know that many people have had it far, far worse.”

The post, which you can read in its entirity here, goes on to say that, in reaction to the attempted break-in, Echo Spirits will donate a portion of its proceeds through the end of the year—from both their Grandview-area bar and Powell bar—to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.
