Ice cream shop with popular speakeasy announces closure; ‘We’re burnt out with the stress and fighting battles’

A chic ice cream shop with a hidden speakeasy through its Coca Cola machine has announced it will be closing this month.

CRMD, known for indulgent ice cream flavors like Cereal and Milk, opened their Lewis Center location in 2023. But yesterday, they posted on Instagram that they’re permanently closing at 5915 Evans Farm Dr.

“It’s been a long year and due to unforeseen circumstances, we have to go this route,” their Instagram post states.

“We’re burnt out with the stress and fighting constant battles so decided it’s time to focus on our mobile ice cream truck–the one you’ve probably seen on our stories!” they said.

CRMD’s last day at Evans Farm will be October 25th. In the meantime, visit their Short North location, or grab some scoops from their ice cream truck around town.
