International BBQ chain, Meat Moot, opening first Columbus location

A showy, meat-centric eatery is opening this week.

Meat Moot, a Turkish restaurant chain described as a “modern smokehouse inspired by Middle Eastern flavors.. using real fire and charcoal,” will hold the grand opening of its first Columbus location on Dec. 19.

It’s located at 3708 Fishinger Blvd. in Hilliard.

The new concept—which promises “big energy, bigger flavor”—offers items like ribs, brisket, a brisket bowl and more. Promotional videos of the restaurant show a wide variety of meats alongside theatrical service and preparation.

“Columbus has a strong food scene, a diverse community, and people who appreciate quality and new concepts. We saw a real opportunity to introduce something unique—high-quality smoked meats with a Middle Eastern influence—and felt it was the perfect fit,” a Meat Moot representative told 614Now of the brand’s first Central Ohio eatery.

Meat Moot operates nearly 50 locations across the globe, with restaurants in Turkey, as well as several restaurants in the United States, including storefronts in Michigan, Illinois and Texas.
