Jazz club opens in historic Downtown mansion
One of the finest examples of Italianate Villa architecture is right here in Central Ohio, and the 1850s-era mansion is getting an entire new life as a jazz club.
This historic home, called the Snowden-Gray House, has served several purposes throughout its long tenure in Columbus—it was a private home, then the governor’s mansion during the Civil War, it was even headquarters for Kappa Kappa Gamma, and most recently, it was a rental and events space. Now, the rooms are filled with sounds of saxophones and ice cubes clinking in glasses, as Blu Note Jazz Club just opened their second location inside the Snowden-Gray House, located at 530 E. Town St. in the Discovery District near Topiary Park.

Blu Note’s new location features live jazz in the main room, but also on top of their rooftop patio. Two full bars are featured in the historic home-turned-jazz-club, as well as a a full service kitchen.
For now, this new venue is only open on Sundays and Mondays (with plans to expand to weekend jazz too). But if you’re interested in listening to jazz on other evenings, stop by Blue Note’s Main St. location.
