Lauded Central Ohio eatery shuts its doors permanently

After dispelling closing rumors late last year, Ghostwriter Public House has announced that the concept has, effective today at 4 p.m., closed for good.

This afternoon, the Johnstown restaurant–known for its upscale offerings and chic interior–shared the following statement to its social media pages.

Late last year, Ghostwriter temporarily closed between Dec. 22-Jan. 8. While rumors existed that the concept was planning to close then, Ghostwriter posted a statement that the closure was only temporary, intended for an interior update. It then reopened in January of 2025.

A Ghostwriter representative confirmed that the restaurant is now permanently closed. It was located at 49-1/2 S Main St. in Johnstown, and originally opened in 2019.
