Local bakery says they’re in jeopardy after financial company allegedly defrauds entire business

“Nobody warns you that starting a small business means crossing paths with some truly dishonest people,” said a local business known for bizarre and fun desserts and huge milkshakes.
Sugar Rush posted on Facebook that a third-party financial management company they hired to handle their businesses has defrauded their business, “jeopardizing everything we’ve worked so hard to build.”

“They have failed to pay our vendors, creditors, and others, leaving us in a difficult position,” the post continued. “Attempts to contact them have been futile, and we’ve taken the necessary steps, including filing police reports and involving other law enforcements, to recover what was stolen from us. Unfortunately for us, it’s not just a few dollars taken and will take quite some time to recover the funds (if we ever get it back).”
Sugar Rush has been open for five years, bringing joy to birthday parties, work events, and even just a night out for a boozy milkshake. They said they’re fighting to keep their business strong.
“We appreciate your patience and continued support during this time—it means more than you know. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us directly. We will keep you updated as we work through this challenge. We will share the business name and people involved once we get the ‘ok’ from law enforcement,” said Mandy & Frank from the Sugar Rush Columbus Team.
