Local restaurateur opening two new smashburger and cheesesteak concepts

If you’re a fan of gooey cheesesteaks, chances are you’ve had AnA Shawarma here in Columbus. The concept, started by Azee Raghbat, first started as a food truck, but two years ago it found a more permanent home at High Street Kitchens, located at 2864 N. High St.

Raghbat isn’t stopping there, though. He told 614Now that he’s opening two new concepts next month, all with your familiar favorites from AnA, but also with the addition of smashburgers and pub-style burgers.

Smash N Eatz, Raghbat’s new restaurant, will be opening at Eastside Brewing Co. in Reynoldsburg at 1421 Davidson Dr. hopefully on August 1 (pending inspections). The burger-centric eatery is replacing Slab Kitchen, who spent four years at the brewery before successfully opening their own brick & mortar restaurant.

At the new burger joint, guests can enjoy class smashburgers but also thick, pub burgers too, like jalapeno cheddar, mushroom swiss, or even a breakfast burger. “A lot of people hate smashburgers,” laughed Raghbat, “so I’m offering a thick, juicy burger, too.” Along with burgers, you can pair a crisp beer from the brewery with hand-battered chicken tenders, breaded wings, loaded fries, cheesesteaks, chicken sandwiches, and loaded salads.

“During my research, I found that most people want finger food when they’re at a brewery, and nothing too difficult,” Raghbat commented. 

Smash N Eatz will be open 11am for carryout on week days even though the brewery doesn’t open until 4pm. Starting at 4, enjoy carryout or dine-in! On the weekends, they’ll open at noon. Every day, they’ll close at 10.

Along with the new location at Eastside Brewery, Raghbat is opening another Smash N Eatz at High Street Kitchens, right next to AnA Shawarma! He’s hoping to have that up and running by July 28, offering free food during the grand opening.
