You may recognize the names Kevin and Lori Ames, who have opened and operated numerous restaurants in Columbus since the 1990s. Their restaurant ventures include Frezno in the Short North, Cafe Lola and Cinco in Downtown, and Burgers Dogs & Fries, sprawled throughout the city. More recent restaurants include Downtown Tavern and Lola’s Kitchen & Bar.

Decades later, and they’re ready for a new adventure. The Café, located at 260 E. Fifth Ave., opened April 17, serving appetizers, sandwiches, pizza, and more “cafe” fare.
The Café offers an extensive, seven-hour long happy hour, Monday through Friday from 11:30-6:30 P.M. This includes cocktails, draft and domestic beer, wine, and even Tito’s on tap. The kitchen closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays and midnight on weekends.
The new restaurant is social media-less for now, but stop by for a drink and a ciabatta sandwich.
