Middle Eastern-style pizza chain opening first Ohio location

An Illinois-based eatery serving Middle Eastern sandwiches, pizza and more is coming to the Buckeye State.

According to a social media post, Al Manakeesh held the grand opening of its first Ohio storefront on March 14. It will be located at 6181 Sawmill Rd. in Dublin.

Al Manakeesh, which first opened in Bridgeview, Illinois, offers Palestinian cuisine, although many items will be familiar to American diners.

The concept offers bagel sandwiches and sandwiches served on pita, alongside a wide variety of Mankeesh, a type of flatbread that the eatery also takes its name from. Using Manakeesh as a base, the eatery creates “pizzas” with Palestinian flair, including options with Zaatar, eggs and even honey. It also serves a dessert Manakeesh with chocolate, M&Ms, nuts and a pistachio sauce drizzle.
