National juice bar, milk cake chain opens first Columbus location

A national juice bar brand is planting a straw in the Columbus area.

Vara Juice, a Dearborn, Michigan-based brand, will officially open its first Central Ohio storefront next month. The concept will hold a grand opening celebration on Oct. 3, from 4-10 p.m.

It’s located at 2019 Polaris Pkwy.

Vara, which is known for a wide variety of locally sourced juices, smoothies and Açaí bowls, focuses on drinks that use whole ingredients, and claims their juices will never contain high fructose corn syrup, maltodextran, aspartame, artificial flavors, artificial colors and more.

The concept also recently rolled out a line of decadent Turkish milk cakes. Patrons can choose from six different flavors or build their own custom cake.

The juice and smoothie chain operates locations in Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland and New York. It currently has one other Ohio storefront, which is located in Elyria.
