National travel guide says this Columbus diner ‘serves up the best homestyle breakfast you’ll ever taste’
An under-the-radar diner here in Columbus is getting some national attention.
According to Family Destinations, a national travel guide that makes “best of” guides, Beechwold Diner serves up some of the best breakfast in the country. Honestly, we’d have to agree!
The little, nostalgic diner is tucked away in a Clintonville strip mall at 4408 Indianola Avenue. It’s easy to miss, but absolutely worth the stop.

“The star of the show – the dish that has customers lining up on weekend mornings – is undoubtedly the biscuits and gravy,” says Family Destinations. “Two impossibly light buttermilk biscuits arrive smothered in a savory sausage gravy that could make a vegetarian question their life choices. The biscuits achieve that perfect textural balance – crisp exterior giving way to a tender, flaky interior that somehow maintains its integrity under the blanket of gravy.”
The travel guide also emphasized how good (and large) Beechwold Diner’s omelets are, as well as their breakfast potatoes, french toast, hot cakes, and breakfast meats.
But you’ll just have to see for yourself.
