National travel guide says this local diner since 1978 is the best in the state
In 1978, a donut kitchen opened in Grandview. About 30 years after, the popular spot transformed into a breakfast diner, offering more than just donuts.
And now, a national travel guide is saying it’s the best retro diner in the state.
Lovefood has declared that DK Diner, located at 1715 W. 3rd Ave. is the absolute best retro diner in the state.

Here’s what they said about the beloved diner: “DK Diner isn’t going to win any prizes for its interior design, but it may well win one for its food, if the customer reviews are anything to go by. The eatery is particularly proud of its donuts, which are made fresh daily and come in all kinds of fancy flavors. You could even double down and order a breakfast of DK Pancakes, made with the same batter as the donuts. That sounds like a good morning to us!”
With options like a donut sandwich, blueberry pancakes, and loaded home fries and breakfast burritos, the line out the door on the weekends is surely worth it.
