Nearly two years after it was closed by a fire, popular Columbus eatery announces reopening date

685 days after a fire caused it to temporarily close, Hunan Lion is ready to reopen.

According to a social media post, the popular Chinese-American eatery will open its doors today at 4 p.m.

“It’s been a long time coming — we know! The road has had its bumps, but we pushed through and we’re here at last,” the post reads. “Thank you so so much for your patience, support, and encouragement along the way. We’re excited to welcome new team members, get back on track, and most importantly — celebrate with YOU! See everyone soon!”

In October of 2023, Hunan Lion was damaged by a fire. It was originally projected to open in December of 2024, but faced numerous setbacks before announcing its reopening.

Hunan Lion  is located at 2038 Crown Plaza Dr.
