New concept from Bodega, District West owners opens in Short North
A Black Sheep is here, and in this context, that’s a good thing.
A new concept from the minds behind Bodega and District West, Black Sheep Kitchen & Spirits officially opened for business on Aug. 7.
The LGBTQIA+ eatery is located at 1124 N. High St., in the former home of Bristol Republic, which relocated to Bridge Park.

Owned by Brian Johnson of Bodega, Bristol Republic and Worthington Tavern, the new Short North space will be operated by District West owner Misty Linn, and is billed as a safe space for the Columbus LGBTQIA+ community.
“Our vision for Black Sheep is to create a space that feels familiar but special—somewhere people can come for great food, strong drinks, and a real sense of community,” Linn said in a press release. “It’s a place where individuality is celebrated and everyone feels at home—and where you never know what kind of unforgettable experience you’ll walk into.”
