New Jamaican jerk chicken spot coming to Italian Village


A new Jerk Chicken restaurant is landing in Budd Dairy Food Hall soon.
According to a social media post from Budd Dairy, The Jerk Spot will open its doors inside the Italian Village Food Hall early next month. It will occupy the Hatch space, a rotating kitchen meant for temporary vendors.

“We are pleased to welcome this team into our rotating Hatch incubator on Tuesday, February 4th,” Budd Dairy’s post reads. “Owner and Executive Chef, Troy Wheat, is known for his aromatic, bold flavors and unique spice blends, crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.”
Inspired by Caribbean and Jamaican cuisine, owner and chef Troy Wheat features items like Oxtail, Jerk Chicken, Rasta Pasta and even a Pineapple Bowl. Entrees will be complimented by like Saffron Fried Rice, Jerk Fried RIce, Plantains and more. Diners can also grab Caribbean Delight and Maple Glazed Sweet Bread for dessert.
