New year-round farm market coming to Columbus area
While we all love the fresh produce at a local farm market, limited hours and closures during the colder months make them a fun, but ultimately unreliable, method of grocery shopping.
But one new Central Ohio concept is hoping to change that.
David and Mary’s, described as “a year-round local market designed to feel like your favorite farmers market,” is opening soon in Lewis Center. It will be open daily and year-round. The new market is located at 6001 Columbus Pike.

According to owners Jeff and Ellen Fischel, David & Mary’s (a nod to the couple’s middle names), plans to open in mid-November, although an opening date hasn’t been announced yet.
“My husband and I have six kids and what we feed them is just as important to us as where the food comes from,” Ellen Fischel told 614Now. “We have been buying local pasture raised meat year round for about three years. It is pretty time consuming in the winter when the seasonal farm markets are closed. This started out as a market focused on local meat and we eventually decided to go all in and focus on local food that is good for you and you can feel good about the ingredients.”
The new market will feature more than 75 different vendors, about 90 percent of whom are based in Ohio.
