New York locals open new NY street food-inspired eatery

A pair of New York natives have brought a taste of The Big Apple to Ohio’s Capital City.
NY Chick’n Gyro, a new concept inspired by New York cuisine, held its soft opening on Feb. 8. It’s located at 1479 Worthington Ave.
The restaurant owners, who both hail from New York City, are attempting to capture a piece of their native New York’s street food scene.

“The street food scene can’t be beat there. The New York platters are a must when you visit. We wanted to introduce that here in Columbus and hope everyone else likes it as much as us,” a NY Chick’n Gyro representative told 614Now.
The new eatery, which is halal, offers a variety of sandwiches, platters (including Chicken, Lamb and Falafel), wings, and even New York Cheesecake. According to, the most popular items so far are its Chicken Platters, Lamb Platters, Smash Burgers, and Philly Cheesesteak Sandwiches.
