Ohio Chick-fil-A implements ‘adult-chaperone’ policy, angering some customers

Teenagers will no longer be able to go to their favorite place for chicken sandwiches without an adult at this Ohio location.

The Chick-fil-A location at 480 E. Stroop Rd. in Kettering, OH, announced a new chaperone policy, where patrons 17-years-old or younger have to be accompanied by an adult (21+) during their visit. If they don’t have an adult with them while dining in, they might be asked to leave.

“With school starting, we wanted to make sure that everyone is aware of our Teen Chaperone Policy. We are grateful for your support and want to make sure Chick-fil-A Kettering is a safe and enjoyable place for everyone! Thank you so much!’ says their Facebook post.

Comments on the Facebook post show that not every parent supports this. “Pretty sad that the good kids are getting punished.. how about instead of a chaperone policy, they say that they have the right to remove anybody from their property that is being disruptive,” said one commenter. “Big mistake on their part. They are going to miss out on a lot of money before and after games,” said another.

“Why punish all the kids for something someone else does, and does that mean during the day also?…So the kids riding their bikes to a Chick-fil-A for a meal are done?” asked another commenter.

Notably, the shopping center that Chick-fil-A is located in, also has an adult chaperone policy.
