One of area’s oldest donut shops and pizza shops could both lose homes, business claims

Honey Dip Donuts & Diner and Iacano’s Pizza have both served the Columbus area for decades, but they may not have much time left at their Kenny Road locations

According to a Change.org petition created by several area businesses, the eateries and more local businesses are currently “at risk of losing [their] homes to redevelopment.”

The situation was explained further in the petition:

“Unfortunately, our landlord’s property went into receivership due to internal disputes, and a court-appointed receiver has quietly arranged to sell these buildings to developers–without giving us notice or a fair chance to purchase the spaces we’ve occupied for decades,” it reads.

Honey Dip nor the developers mentioned could be contacted for comment by the time this story went to print.

The donut shop, which only operates a single storefront, is located at 4480 Kenny Rd., while Iacano’s is located at 4452 Kenny Rd., although the longtime Columbus pizzeria also operates another location in Powell. The petition mentions other business, including DeSantis Florist, which has operated in Columbus since 1927.

The businesses’ petition had currently reached more than double its original goal of 5,000 signatures at the time this story was published.
