Pie-in-a-jar concept taking off in Columbus
If you’re tapped into the many unique and thriving businesses on the southside of Columbus like Two Dollar Radio or Bake Me Happy, then you may have heard whisperings of The Southside Pie Guy.
Making plant-based cream pies out of a jar, or offering full-sized pies for $30, the Southside Pie Guy run by owner/baker Drew Hamilton is quietly expanding its footprint across Columbus, partnering up with other beloved local businesses to sling his vegan pies in a jar.

The new business has just announced that they will be regularly available at Grandma’s Pizza on Parsons, sharing their fun ‘flavors of the month.’ The Pie Guy has also been popping up at hangs like Rumours Bar on Parsons to dish out “biscoff cream pie,” and recently brought some pies to the guys behind popular Bobby Jo’s Pizza. Banana cream and key lime pie jars can regularly be found for sale at Kokomo Juice and Coffee on Parsons as well.
Other flavors include classics like chocolate cream, peanut butter with chocolate ganache, coconut cream, cookies and cream, and more. The Southside Pie Guy does pop-up markets and events around the southside of Columbus too, so following the growing bakery at @southside_pie_guy on Instagram is the best way to see where they will be stocking their pies next. Personally, I cannot wait to try their pistachio pie. And to give my stomach some extra love, maybe I’ll upgrade it to gluten free.
