A Columbus cheesecake spit that got its start by accident is heading very intentionally into its first ever brick and mortar space.

According to a social media post, the Bearded Baker will officially open the doors of its first standalone spot on Sept. 3 at 10 a.m.

Earlier this year, owner Matt Estep told 614Now that he intended to stay close to Olde Towne East and the East Market, where the concept first began in earnest after taking over a portion of The Butcher & Grocer’s space in the market.

And he was true to his word. While the location of his new storefront wasn’t announced initially, the Bearded Baker’s recent post noted it will be located at 2918 E. Main St., directly across the street from The Top Steakhouse.

The Columbus cheesecake spot closed in the East Market to begin construction on its new location on June 18.

It will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
