Popular coffee shop closes a location

“It’s never fun to talk about something ending,” said a local coffee shop on Instagram.
Mission Coffee Co. announced today that they’re closing down their South Side cafe, located at The Fort off of S. High St.
“Unfortunately, the things that we’ve needed to happen so that we can fully operate the space have failed to materialize,” the video said. “Development and city systems can be complicated and often not friendly to small businesses.”

After closing their Short North shop during the pandemic, they relocated to The Fort in 2021, roasting coffee at this space and eventually opening a full cafe. They’ve since reopened their other location at 11 Price Ave. in the Short North. Maybe they’ll be able to reopen this cafe as well in the future?
“Regardless, we’re thankful for the time and memories we’ve created at this space, and we’re so hopeful about being able to open a full cafe here at The Fort on the South Side at some point in the future.”
Their last cafe service is this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 8am-noon. If you can’t make it then, stop into their Short North shop any day of the week until 6pm!
“Bye, for now,” said the Mission Coffee Co. team.
