Popular High St. restaurant closing after nearly two decades; fast-growing chain opening ‘first of its kind’ cafe there


A longstanding campus eatery known for delicious noodles and authentic Korean cuisine is closing their doors, but another concept is moving right in.
Diaspora, located at 2118 N. High St. since 2007, told 614Now that their last days of serving Bibimbap and ramen will be next Thursday, July 3. The restaurant has been a go-to spot for decades. There’s a possibility they could be opening a new restaurant elsewhere.

Although students won’t be fueling up on noodles at this spot, they’ll soon be able to get a caffeine boost. Rick Nader, President of the Ohio 7Brew franchise, told 614Now that they’re opening a 7Brew coffee shop there, hoping to have it up and running by the OSU vs. Texas game on August 30. This will be the first 7Brew in the entire country that isn’t a drive-thru!
The fast-growing coffee chain is known for their exceptionally friendly service and their 20,000+ flavor combinations.
